She joined the agency in 2019 after graduating from the University of Exeter with a First in History. Beginning her career as Darley’s assistant, Rebeka swiftly moved on to establish her own list, shaped by her personal reading tastes and a long-standing passion for commercial new adult, romance, and romantasy fiction. In 2025, she was nominated for Agent of the Year by the Romantic Novelists’ Association.
As an agent, Rebeka is guided by a clear commercial instinct and a commitment to championing books she genuinely loves as a reader – stories driven by compelling voices, standout characters, and strong market appeal. Her debut author, Donna Marchetti, became an instant US and UK Kindle bestseller and is now translated into 16 languages. Rebeka works closely with her authors to position each project for maximum commercial success, with a particular focus on bold, fresh storytelling. She is actively seeking high-concept, emotionally engaging commercial romantic fiction with a focus on voices and narratives from underrepresented backgrounds in publishing.
Importantly, I look for strong, diverse, brave and relatable characters and ensemble casts across the romance space. Those that feel like a friend, a champion and an ally.

As an agent and reader, I am always on the lookout for commercial romance and romantasy fiction that has the potential to reach the widest possible readership. Whatever the story, I want books with romance at the very heart of the narrative.
I am actively looking for romantic fantasy, or “romantasy”. Think Keri Lake, Rebecca Yarros, Saara El-Arifi, or Carissa Broadbent. I have my eyes peeled for a novel or series that captures the high stakes thrills and world-building of a fantasy setting, with those romantic relationships at the core of the story. I’m keen to explore different landscapes and am looking specifically for desert set stories that authentically weave the traditions and stories of North African and Middle Eastern heritage. Novels like Tahereh Mafi’s The Woven Kingdom or First Born of the Sun by Marvellous Michael Anson. I’d also love to have an ice kingdom epic on my list. Importantly, I look for strong, diverse, brave and relatable characters and ensemble casts – characters that feel like a friend, a champion and an ally.
I am also particularly excited by novels that flip existing narratives on their head. Think Robin Hood where he falls for the morally grey undertones of Guy of Gisbourne. Or Twilight, if Bella and Alice ran off into the sunset. I’d also love to see more in the urban fantasy space. Think Mortal Instruments for the new adult market.
I am on the hunt for the perfect romance in space. Think The 100 if they never came back to earth. Or The Martian but two love lost souls are stuck on a deserted planet together. I am very selective in the type of sci-fi I look for, and if it doesn’t have a strong romantic plot then I’m not the right agent for it.
In the contemporary romance space, I’m looking for books that encapsulate life in your messy 20s: romantic, chaotic and full of heart. I love books that lean into the classic romance tropes but have a fresh, compelling hook like Good Spirits by BK Borison, Hannah Bonam-Young’s Out on a Limb or Christina Lauren’s The Soulmate Experiment. I want books that offer a sex-positive outlook for readers and that are representative of all voices and sexual orientations and am especially looking for more commercial queer fiction on my list. Messy, cheesy, heartbreaking, relatable – I want the characters and their story to engross me completely and have me reaching for it time and time again.
I’d also love to explore more genre-bending mashups. Think Twisters but make it a romance, or Bridget Jones meets Oceans Eleven. Something filled with thrills and adventure, but keeping a spine tingling romance at its core. Above all, I’m looking for escapism, butterflies, and a healthy dose of spice.
