Ilaria Albani
Rights Agent
Ilaria earned a first-class degree in English Language and Literature at King’s College, London, where she discovered that her passion for books could be turned into a job by pursuing a career in publishing.
After learning the art of handselling and making customers fall in love with a book in her role as a bookseller at Waterstones, she started her career in Foreign Rights where she can marry her love for languages and forging connections with literature. She previously worked at Andrew Nurnberg Associates and David Higham Associates, where she sold rights across the globe and gained extensive experience working with brand authors and international bestsellers.
She happily joined Darley Anderson and Associates in June 2024 as a Rights Agent and she handles foreign rights sales of the Agency’s Adult Fiction authors into Asia, France, Scandinavia, Italy and Israel.
Ilaria reads across genres but loves commercial fiction in particular, from a good bookclub read via a murderous thriller to uplifting women’s fiction, which makes DA the perfect fit for her!
She is also one of the original members of the Festival of Italian Literature in London, an ambitious indie literary festival that aims at building bridges between communities, languages and cultures in the post-Brexit landscape and offers an image of Italy and Europe removed from exhausted stereotypes.
