Imran Mahmood was born in Liverpool to first generation Pakistani parents. He has been working on the criminal bar in London for over 20 years and regularly appears in jury trials across the country dealing in serious and complex criminal cases.
His previous titles have been nominated as The Telegraph’s Best Crime Novels of the Year, picked by Simon Mayo as a BBC Radio 2 Book Club Choice, longlisted multiple times for the Theakston Crime Novel of the Year Award CRIME NOVEL OF THE YEAR, the CWA Gold Dagger in 2018 and was shortlisted for The Glass Bell Award 2018.
Imran’s debut, You Don’t Know Me, was a major BBC drama adapted for screen by the team behind VIGIL and released on Netflix, starring Samuel Adewunmi who received a BAFTA nomination for his role as the protagonist in You Don’t Know Me.
He now lives in South East London with his wife and children.
