Two Wonderful Winners At The Rna Awards
The Darley Anderson Agency is extremely proud, that two of their authors have won prestigious awards from the Romantic Novel Association. On the 16th March, the winners were announced at the RNA's Pure Passion Awards lunch, in London, hosted by critic and television personality Barry Norman.
The Nearly-Weds, by Jane Costello beat the likes of Jill Mansells, Rumour Has It, receiving the Romantic Comedy Novel of the Year Award. The book was picked by a panel of readers and writers who had been asked to pick the book that really tickled their funny bones. The judges went on to say that The Nearly Weds was a witty, at times laugh out loud romance, full of great characters. This was a new award introduced this year to mark the 50th year of the RNA awards ceremony, to help showcase this popular genre and help readers get to know fantastic new writers.
Nell Dixon picked up the hotly-contested Love Story of the Year award for her novel Animal Instincts. Katie Fforde, Chair of the RNA commented These Pure Passion Awards have enjoyed a higher standard of entries than ever before but the judges were unanimously won over... Nell Dixon, whose character development and storylines kept us hooked to the very last page." Nell was also awarded this prize in 2007, for her book Marrying Max, which was when Darley Anderson signed her up.
