"David Hewson turns TV gold into literary gold" Daily Telegraph

Detective Inspector for homicide, Sarah Lund, is contacted by old flame Mathias Borch from National Intelligence.

Borch fears that what first appeared to be a random killing at the docks is the beginning of an assassination attempt on Prime Minister Troels Hartmann. The murder draws attention towards the shipping and oil giant, Zeeland, run by billionaire Robert Zeuthen.

When Zeuthen’s 9-year-old daughter, Emilie, is kidnapped the investigation takes on a different dimension as it soon becomes clear that her disappearance is linked to the murder of a young girl in Jutland some years earlier.

Hartmann is in the middle of an election campaign, made all the more turbulent because of the mounting financial crisis. He needs Zeeland’s backing. Lund needs to make sense of the clues left by Emilie’s perpetrator before it’s too late. And can she finally face the demons that have long haunted her?

Dynamic new deals for David Hewson

March 2013

David Hewson will continue his phenomenal work on The Killing franchise with the novelisation of The Killing III. The title will be published by Pan Macmillan, who acquired World Rights, in February 2014 after the huge success of The Killing I and II.

Trisha Jackson, Editorial Director of Pan Macmillan, has also acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights from Camilla Wray for the first two books in David’s new crime series. Book one, House of Dolls, is set in Amsterdam and follows ex-police brigadier Pieter Vos.

Vos has distanced himself from the world after the disappearance of his only child. He lives on a run-down house boat with just his dog and painful memories for company. When a teenager goes missing with unnerving similarities to his daughter’s case, Vos is called in to help his old colleagues. As he unravels the mystery he realises that in order to find justice, he must accept the past.

Unabridged audio UK rights have also sold in all three titles to W F Howes.
